Field Trips

Every year since its inception, the Geological Society of Trinidad & Tobago has run quarterly field trips to various outcrops in Trinidad and Tobago. Field Trips are usually geared towards the analysis of a particular formation or section,  identification of both structural and stratigraphic features,  and placing these observations into the regional context.  Most importantly, it serves as an opportunity for geoscientists to reconnect with rocks, observe formations at an outcrop scale, and enjoy discussion based on field observations and experience from members of the Society.

The GSTT provides transport , security and drinks for trips, notifying members of particular pick up and drop off locations. The trips are jointly coordinated by GSTT Executive members and a Field Trip Leader. The Field Trip Leader supplies a field guide for attendees.
